A virus on the cd!

OOOpss.  FOR SOME REASON AFTER  2 DOWNLOADS FROM 2 DIFERENT MIRROS I'M GETTING THIS virus... (((----trj/agent.ebt---))location D:\start.exe.. IN BOTH CDS IMAGES..  WICH MY ANTIVIRUS DOES NOT ALLOW TO EXECUTE SO I ONLY COULD INSTALL  THE GIMP, FIREFOX..ETC. BUT  WHERE IS THE UBUNTU DESKTOP? (ubuntu6.10)....2 downloads ; 1st CSU NONTERREY BAY ...2nd; COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY...BOTH DOWNLOADS SUCSESFULLY...BURNED WITH NERO BURNING ROOM AS A (iso 9660+jolet) ... Thanx.

What are you trying to download and from where? Is it an ISO? Are you not burning an ISO and making a bootable disk instead?

A few suggestions... Please

A few suggestions...

Please don't type in upper case - it's had to read and
many people just ignore CAPS post.

2nd please turn off your AV program, if your
freaked about malware - unplug your network
connection as most malware refresh from temp
files or cookies till you need to dl from
a repository once Ubuntu is installed.

3rd what is the boot loader say?

4th if the install is corrupt you'll
most likely end up on a command line or GRUB.
The desktop won't display till the kernel loads.

Finally, if I'm reading your post correctly are
you thinking that you iso copy might have a
virus on it from a repository.

You won't have to ask, news like that will
travel super_ultra_mega fast...

Now that's out of the way what is your status?
