I had ubuntu 8.10 then i upgraded to the latest version. While installing well upgrading everything went well. Then i had to restart the laptop so the upgrades could take t on my top right handside there is a speaker icon on ubuntu but it slashed out and it says that it does not work at all it's slashed out. There is no sound on my laptop factory speakers. And the movie player does not play anything at all well music files. I have to play them through Rythombox music player. When ever i want to hear sound coming from the laptop i have tu use alternative speakers through the usb speakers system. Is there anything i can do. I have a GQ laptop with an AMD mobile sempron 1.6 with 2 ghz ram. that is the laptop i am using.
