Bluetooth in Ubuntu + GPRS

Hello people i am a noob to linux and have just installed ubuntu and its working fine except that i cannot connect to the internet with my GPRS phone which i connect with bluetooth.

In order to download the bluetooth manager i first have to connect to the internet...i downloaded the package .gz and .bz files containing the bluetooth manager for linux via windows but i don't know how to compile it into a .deb package so that i can install it

PLEASE HELP ME SO THAT THE NEXT TIME I SURF THIS SITE ITS ON UBUNTU LINUX

and as I am using 8.10, I was wondering how I can get my bluetooth GPRS modem working under 8.10.

New tools in 8.10

You may simply need to use the tools available in 8.10 to setup the modem ONCE you have it fully configured via bluetooth.

Otherwise the older instructions should suffice.

Define the problem further.
