Bluetooth in Ubuntu + GPRS

Hello people i am a noob to linux and have just installed ubuntu and its working fine except that i cannot connect to the internet with my GPRS phone which i connect with bluetooth.

In order to download the bluetooth manager i first have to connect to the internet...i downloaded the package .gz and .bz files containing the bluetooth manager for linux via windows but i don't know how to compile it into a .deb package so that i can install it

PLEASE HELP ME SO THAT THE NEXT TIME I SURF THIS SITE ITS ON UBUNTU LINUX
