Booting Alternate-install cd from usb-drive in XP
Hey. My problem is this:Im planning to boot the alternate install iso(xubuntu) from my usb-drive. Im trying to boot it with syslinux. Im using windows.I did copy syslinux to the usb-drive and all the necessary files: Initrd.gz vmlinuz netboot(an alternative i chose to have) mt86plus + the ISO.After that i wrote the syslinux.cfg file:default vmlinuz append initrd=initrd.gz ramdisk_size=10240 root=(1) devfs=(2) Sections 1 and 2 im a little confused about under windows, if syslinux even works installing under win32. 1. Im not sure what root should be in windows. I dont know what drive letter and mountpoint i should be using. 2. Related i should think. Does this method work for booting? Its a lot easier in linux.....
