when i rebooted my pc .. it wudnt open kde but the prompt screen..how can i open kde again????i am new to linux ..pls help

Hey I was wondering if ipalias exists in the current 2.6 kernel?Ive searched but i havent found anything.....i know that it decrepated in 2.4 kernel series..Is it part of another package like firewall och linuxroute perhaps? Best regards /xorl

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone tried to make firefox a default browser under Kubuntu. I went to system settings and i changed it. Also i changed files associations so firefox comes first, i checked options in firefox to check if its default browser, as well as i went to about:config. After all those changes everytime i click any link (eg. thunderbird or gaim), it opens konqueror. Is there anyway of going around it?

i had installed ubuntu 64bit linux it doesnot promt for root password. so i have only user privileges..help

There is a new distribution based on Ubuntu under development which is called Ubuntu Lite. The idea of Ubuntu Lite is to bring the power of Ubuntu across to the users of legacy systems.

Kubuntu is an official derivation of the Ubuntu Linux desktop operating system providing KDE support. It is part of Ubuntu. All packages share the same archives as Ubuntu.

It is even possible to install KDE on Ubuntu to achieve a "Kubuntu". Otherway round Gnome can be installed on Kubuntu, so there's no real limitation according to the used desktop environment. Kubuntu comes with a preinstalled and preconfigured KDE and without Gnome.
