Lack of online banking on Desktop is why linux fails
As a linux user with numerous aborted attempts to leave Windows behind, I always come up against this wall...Sure you can manually import updates from your banks into kmymoney or gnucash but in quicken or MSmoney it's just accepted that your accounts update automatically, or with one click. but that's windows. In searching I find it amazing there are a lot of desktop linux users who manually enter (type in) their transactions to a financial program... but search for ofx direct connect and linux, and you frequently see subjects say this is the ONE software functionality that stands in their way of leaving windows behind.makes me wonder why there are so many distros of a desktop linux and no one makes the effort to put together a product, open source or not, that can come close to the windows financial packages...
