Greetings, this is my blog about Ubuntu Linux
Hello,
This is my first blog entry, It's almost time for a summer vacation from the college, So I could format my computer happily from all the windows trash etc. (I have to use windows, cause the homework which require programs like Visual Basic 6/.NET, Photoshop CS2). But now I don't need those anymore, so I saw this as a change, to test the Dapper Drake.
Yesterday I installed the Dapper Drake flight 7, and I'm really happy about all this, XGL is working perfectly with Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT, I didn't even have to mess with the xorg.conf (much), but one thing I noticed, the DRI module is broken? or so I heard
mod@kaizoku:~$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: No
I tried everything to enable it, but no luck, I had some other problems too, like pressing shift & backspace, that zap's the X, like pressing ctrl+alt+backspace. I noticed some bugs in Konqueror 3.5 too, like the OS selection dropdown box at http://www.opera.com/ doesn't work, didn't really have time to check the sourcecode.
One thing I was surprised was iPod support, it works almost flawlessy, but program called banshee broke my iPod, I had to run iPodUpdater.exe with vmware & windows - to restore the firmware setup. It worked, and I got iPod up and running with gtkpod now.
