How to install the messenger Skype

Open a terminal window and type in:
sudo apt-get install libqt3c102-mt
wget -c http://frankandjacq.com/ubuntuguide/skype_1.2.0.11-1_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i skype_1.2.0.11-1_i386.deb
killall gnome-panel

The last command refreshes the GNOME panel.

After that you can find Skype in the Gnome menu under Applications -> Internet.
