HOWTO check video driver resolution in text mode??

I installed the new Invidia driver and it worked just fine. Until I rebooted the system.Now I cannot go beyond 640x480, there are no other choices in the GUI setup screen.Is there a text file I could edit to get it back to 1290x1024?thanks, Ed(Using 8.04)

Edincalf, the Xorg configuration file handles monitor resolution. First try sudo nvidia-xconfig in terminal. If that doesn't help, you will need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf.....
