Installing Kubuntu on Dell Optiplex GX260

I am trying to install the above on the above computer but it just locks up and is not interested!! I am able to install windows and have tried suse 10.2, but really want Kubuntu. How do I get around this? Also, I wish to install in on another machine which has an old version of mandrake on it, partitioned from Windows XP (dual boot). How do I make sure I install over the old Linux partition and NOT the XP partition as I have stuff still on it that I need?CheersTim

I'm having the same issue with my GX260. Though on the older machine you will know the difference between the partitions because XP is either FAT 32 or NTFS (probably NTFS) format. So don't go over that one.
