Installing open-suse 10.1/fedora core 5

The 1st Distro i ever installed and used was suse 10.0 ... So now i used ubuntu for about a half-year it was time for me to uninstall windows and dualboot with suse 10.1 i thought.Well the installation look nice, i didn't see any difference with 10.0 (only the booting). But when i installed my system (i choose to install a base gnome system) the trouble begon.Possitive aspects of Suse -> Ubuntu:- Uses YaST2, what is a GREAT Conf tool!Negative aspects:- You cannot change the loginscreen graphically.- You use RPM, so no apt-geting here.- And a lot of other things. It just was (i think) less freedom then in Linspire... So i tested my other cd that i have left... a Fedora Core 5 install cd.So i 1st cleaned up the partition of suse, put the cd into my cd-player and...NOTHING! it just followed up to the GRUB screen.. and booted with ubuntu...Now i am still searching for a rpm distro... Anyone has a good idea? (btw, i don't like kde and xfce so much... so a gnome distro please :) )
