Metasploit 2.0 beta 2

Does anyone have any experience running the Metasploit Framwork 3.0 beta 2 on Unbuntu Dapper?  If so, I could really use some help. I've installed all the ruby libraries and have extracted the Metasploit tarball to my computer (home folder-not sure if this has anything to do with it but I've tried extracting to / as well) .  When I attempt to run both the msfweb and msfconsole programs, I get a "command not  found error". I've tried the following syntax:

• user@computer:~/framework-3.0-beta-2-svn$./msfweb)
• user@computer:~/framework-3.0-beta-2-svn$sudo ./msfweb
• usr/bin/env: ruby: No such file or directory (error I get)
• user@computer:~/framework-3.0-beta-2-svn$msfweb
• user@computer:~/framework-3.0-beta-2-svn$sudo msfweb
• bash: msfweb: command not found (error I get)

Besides the fact that I'm a newb, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?  Any help is greatly appreciates.-Newguy
