Mp3 player

Hello. I am a complete newb and i want to connect my Yakumo Hypersound Xtra mp3 player to my ubuntu linux (some Hedgehog). I have tried something but in the media folder i see only floppy and cdrom. I dont know right now what information i have to provide more. I have searched some webs about mp3 player or usb stick mounting and there was a command dmesg, when i wrote it in terminal i got a bunch of stuff, and there was something like usbfs, i wrote in terminal mount usbfs and it wrote that it is allready mounted /proc/bus/usb  or something like that. Pls Help...
