putty help

Hi Timereeper,This program "putty" is a terminal emulator for SSH which acts a s a client for SSH, Telnet, etc. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PuTTY), This program is very small, hence it doesn't require any complicated installation process, you just download it, and place it on your desktop, and then execute it.When you run this program you will see a screen that has a text box underneath the Host Name (or IP Address) label, you must enter the IP Address for the ubuntu laptop on this text box, or the host name, which should be provided by your lecturer.  Then click on the Open button.  If the Ubuntu computer has SSH access enabled you will see a screen pop-up asking you for username and then password. This username should be provided by the lecturer as well as the password, right after that you will be logged into Ubuntu computer.Iveen DuarteDell Optiplex 755 / Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) 64-bit
