Sims 2 won't start with ubuntu????? Please help!

I have ubuntu 9.04 jaunty and have wine downloaded and i recently downloaded sims 2. The installation went fine and was easy. However when i insert the cd and open it through wine the diamond thing and the sims 2 screen come up as if the game were going to start however it goes back to my desktop enlarged and has three windows minimized at the bottom, called untitled window and two sims 2. I don't get why it won't start??? Please help me i am about to kill my computer, but i love ubuntu and don't want windows again, but i love my sims?????? Please give me step by step instructions, as i am not very technological advanced. Thanks!
