With ubuntu 9.04, I can't watch movies online. All I get is a black screen or no response at all. Help!!!

You need to install flash
You need to install flash player, simpely use a package manager to install the ubuntu restricted extras
Codec Issue
It could also be that you need the third party codec. Download Gstreamer package and also grab this package while you are at it http://labs.divx.com/DivXLinuxCodec.

hi, if you mean you cannot watch clip from youtube? then you should install flash player..
go here http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
choose "Different operating system or browser"
select "linux" and press continue
select "Flash player for Linux(.deb)
and install...
