can't open, input/output error
I recently mounted ubuntu 9.04 to a cd/r disc, put it in and installed inside windows. Then it told me I needed to restart.
I turned off my computer and tried to boot from the ubuntu option at the beginning next to windows
And it just kept blinking an underscore, for over an hour before I turned off my computer and tried to boot from the CD. When I was at the screen for the disc I had an option to install, so I chose that.
It did some stuff, and then said
"
* Preparing restricted drivers...
* Starting kernal event manager...
* Loading hardware drivers...
scsi_id[3153]: can't open /etc/scsi_id.config: Input/output error
scsi_id[3156]: can't open /etc/scsi_id.config: Input/output error
scsi_id[3157]: can't open /etc/scsi_id.config: Input/output error
Unit: rc-default main process (3289) terminated with status 127.
"
What should I do to fix this?

RE: can't open, input/output error
Read this on another forum (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4769702), may be worth a try:
Copy the file 'telinit' from /sbin on a live CD to that same folder on your installation.
