Connecting to Internet

I have a Dell GX520 computer and have been trying to connect to the Internet. I am trying to use Linux 2009 Freespire 2.0.8 . My connection is a wireless key type. When I plug it in, it shows that it is working but I don't know how to how to gt it to connect. In windows a screen comes up and says "connect" or "disconnect" . Does anyone know how to do this please?

Connecting to Internet

Have you tried freespire's site?
This is mostly an Ubuntu site I think.
All Linux is similar but not exactly the same. But some other tips would include determining if dialup modem is hardware or internal winmodem. Linux should work with all hardware modems without hitch but may not with win-modems without a lot of effort. I have a DSL modem and all I had to do to connect was start a browser. I think during Ubuntu installation I was asked what kind of a connection I was going to use and any set up might have happened there. Mine is set to direct connect. It could be set to use browser settings and other methods. I didn't think Freespire was in existence anymore...?
I looked for help and couldn't find their website offering any.
Try using Ubuntu instead and the use it's help system. Linux Mint and SuperOS are Ubuntu derivatives that might rival Freespire as far as having everything preloaded. It takes some learning but well worth it!
