Can't type password to log in

I just installed Ubuntu but I cannot type my password when I am asked to log in. I am typing in the box but no characters are showing up.

Can someone tell me how to fix this so I can log in to my Ubuntu? Thanks

Turn On-screen Keyboard On

At the login screen, you'll need to use your mouse and click the little circle with a human stick figure and then click on "Universal Access Preferences." A screen will pop up and you need to check "Use on-screen keyboard."

Then restart Ubuntu. You should be able to login using the on-screen keyboard and your mouse now.
