Installing files from CD's

Hello, I just installed ubuntu last night on my comp because I had too many driver crashes with windows. I LOVE the interface and functionality of this O.S. The only problem that I am having is, with windows, you get the install wizard. I do not have an idea of how to extract files from CD's or downloaded from mozilla and do all that stuff on ubuntu. My email is thabstract@ymail.com and my ubuntu chat sn is Abstract. If anyone could help me with this as soon as possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you explain more?

I'm not sure that I fully understand the problem...

Windows programs on ubuntu?

If you are trying to use programs that you used to use on windows, most will not work. Those that do need to be ran through a program called WINE. If you want help looking for a program that will do the same thing as a Windows program you use check on this site... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=33183 Also, certain files can be used without any new programs such as MP3 and picture files. In short I think for a good answer we need specifics about files and programs you need to use.
