after installing Ubuntu 10.04 on my vaio, AFTER installing all updates. i could not still get sound off it.
can someone please help me out.

Sound Problem

I own a Vaio and had the same problems for weeks. I went through many troubleshooting guides but none of them worked. So last week I downloaded and installed the Pre-Release of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick. The sound works perfect now.
