OSDisc.com defects

I have purchased several discs from OSDisc.com but all the discs they sent (since April) have been defective. I have been sending emails inquiring why, over and over but I have not received any response. Please someone help me.

defective discs

If you received several defective discs they probably all came from the same defective batch. Have you tried the discs in a different computer to confirm they are defective?

here is the link to their support page:

Defective discs

Thank you very much for your recommendation. I was not aware of "returns link". However, what puzzles me is (1) that I purchased different distros, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSuse, CentOS, and Ubuntu again and they all had similar problems, and (2) that they would not respond to my emails. I know they are usually prompt in reply and delivery because I have purchased discs from them before (April) all of which went very well. Unfortunately, I don't have another computer at disposal to try (friend's or otherwise).

Defective discs and no response?

All discs they've sent to me since April have been defects. A few times I purchased discs from them before April have been fine. Also note attachments.

defective discs

okay what i meant earlier was that if the discs are printed at a factory then they are printed a thousand discs at a time. so if a batch is bad, then all the discs in the batch are bad - but that would only account for one product. since you tried several different products and continue having problems then your optical drive may not like that type of media, OR your optical drive is defective altogether. the best way would be to put the disc in an different computer or laptop. You could try the disc at your local library, or even at a department or computer store demo unit.

Defective discs

Thanks for the suggestions. It is logical to suspect that the CD/DVD drive or computer may be at fault. Since the new discs destroyed my partition and in one case totally wiped out my disk (thank goodness I had backups, I bought other distros out of desperation, also becuz I'm not white) I had to reinstall my old Ubuntu 10.10 which I bought from the same company and it worked without a hitch. I have not tried another computer though, I will do it when I have a chance. But why is it they do not respond to my emals? They would not have been aware that all the discs (since April) failed, until now ... with the blog. Do you or anybody else by any chance have any contact with them? Would you, or anyone else, kindly contact them for me? I'm not expecting anything from the company ... well perhaps just one WORKING disc. But most of all I would like to know truly what's going on.

Defective discs, Not!

I tried them on my friend’s computer (without telling her) and they worked perfectly. What is the difference between her computer and mine? Hers is new and mine is old. But I have sufficient memory space on my computer, 1GB main memory and 260GB disk space. I have slightly old Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7 running well on separate partitions. If so, why does Ubuntu 12.04 LTS not run? I don’t know. The fact is that it just does not run on MY computer. Unfortunately, I have thrown away some of the discs but I still have two Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and one CentOS 6.2 (set of two). Would anyone want them (free)? Just let me know (mary...@hotmail.com) and I will send them right away. This way, at least someone(s) will make good use of them.

Free (2)Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and (1)CentOS 6.2 (set of 2) give away

I am giving away these discs for free, no shipping charge, no handling charge, no charge of any kind and no strings attached. Just send me an email (mary...@hotmail.com) to tell me where to send it to and I will send it right away. I will of course repsect your privacy also. If there is no request by end of the month (August) I will dispose of them since I have no use for them.

Free (2)Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and (1)CentOS 6.2 (set of 2) give away

There has been no request. I have dumped the discs.
