Fehler : bash: nmake: command not found

Ich möchte INET-Framework (von OmNET++) zum starten bringen. Auf der Homepage steht :

You might be tempted to just type the opp_nmakemake -f command to generate a makefile -- don't! Please read the INSTALL file in the package. Essentially it should be:

nmake -f makefile.vc depend
nmake -f makefile.vc

opp_nmakemake is not enough here, it's only for single-directory models. makemake is a batch file which essentially runs heaps of opp_nmakemake commands, one in each directory.

also makemake klappt wunderbar!!! (also mit ./makemake)

aber bei nmake -f makefile.vc depend kommt Fehler : bash: nmake: command not found

was kann ich tun?

habe mit apt-get install make gesehn das bei mir es schon installier ist!

Danke für die Hilfe

No sound in fresh Ubuntu 8.10 install on a laptop

Hey, all.

I'm a new Linux user, and I just put Ubuntu on my laptop, dual-booted with Vista. My sound works fine in Vista, but I get nothing at all in Ubuntu. I've done some googling and it hasn't fixed my problem, but it's taught me a few of the things you'll ask me to post, at least, so here's what I've come up with:

-None of my volumes are muted or low, confirmed by alsamixer and by my sound settings.

-I have libsdl1.2debian-alsa installed.

-lspci returns:

00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset PCI Express Graphics Port (rev 07)

00:1a.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) USB UHCI Controller #5 (rev 03)

How to Create a Private Encrypted Folder On Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid)

eCryptfs is a POSIX-compliant enterprise-class stacked cryptographic filesystem for Linux. It provides advanced key management and policy features. eCryptfs stores cryptographic metadata in the header of each file written, so that encrypted files can be copied between hosts; the file will be decryptable with the proper key, and there is no need to keep track of any additional information aside from what is already in the encrypted file itself. Think of eCryptfs as a sort of “gnupgfs”.eCryptfs is a native Linux filesystem. The kernel module component of eCryptfs is part of the Linux kernel since 2.6.19.

Internet Connection

Hi there.

I am a complete newbie to all things Linux, but have decided to dive in and give it a go (fed up with Microsoft!).

After a bit of a look, and getting confused as to what to go for (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Gobuntu or Xubuntu?!?), I finally settled on Ubuntu Desktop, which I now have installed.

Next... I have a five station network at home, of which the Ubuntu Desktop machine is one. The other four machines are all running Windows, all peer-to-peer.
Now... My primary machine in the house has a modem/router connected to it, and serves as the internet server.
I have a cable in Port 2 of this router, which runs outside to the sleepout and terminates in a second router. There are two machines in the sleepout connected to this router, plus a cable connected to Port 3 of this router which runs to my workshop, and terminates in a third router. This router connects to two computers, of which the Ubuntu machine is one.
Confused.... I hope not.

Unable to see buttons/Text in OpenOffice and Wine when nVidia drivers are active

Good morning. I have been having problems using both OpenOffice and WINE when I have the 3D accelerated drivers active on my machine. If I disable or uninstall the drivers for my nVidia card, then I can view the buttons and text. Is there anyway of fixing this problem or am I going to have to live with just the 2D drivers?

Driver installation

Good morning. I am unable to install the newest nVidia drivers for my Ubuntu 8.10. I have tried to install them from the terminal prompt and continuously receive an error that the command will not execute to install. I am trying to install nVidia-Linux-x86-177.82-pkg1.run.

I also am having trouble installing F-Prot on this machine as well. I know that an anti-virus is not needed for any of the linux distros, but I believe in being prepared for the inevitable possibly of infections.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ubuntu AMD64

I have a Dell XPS720 Core2 Quad computer. I downloaded the AMD64 version of Ubuntu and burned it to CD. I have a separate hard drive to dedicate to linux so I do not need to repartion a Windows installation. When I try to install the Ubuntu loader screen comes up with the various options. If I choose Run Ubuntu without any changes to the hard disk or Install Ubuntu, it only goes to the system prompt. I'm obviously new to Linux and Ubuntu. Does the AMD64 version strictly mean I have to have an AMD x64 processor or like in Windows is AMD64 generic for any 64bit processor? Should I be using the i386 version of Ubuntu even though I have an x64 computer?

I appreciate your help.
