How to install Dual Boot Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows sp3 with NVIDIA GeForce FX5500 Graphic Card

I have P4 system in my home and system configuration is

BIOS: Mother Board version ZX-865v v1.0 (2009-04-22-4m)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2.40 Ghz
Memory: 1024 MB RAM

Display:

Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500
Manufacture: NVIDIA
Chip Type: GeForce FX 5500
DACType: Integrated RAMDAC
Approx Total Memory:256.0MB
Current Display mode: 1024X768(32bit)(60HZ)
Monitor: Plug and Play monitor
and in that system i have SAM SUNG HD321Hj hard disk of 320GB and made three partitions (C D E) in that i have installed xp with sp3 in C & D partitions and in E partition I installed Ubuntu 9.10.

in this month Ubuntu 10.10 was released and i tried to install Ubuntu 10.10 on my system. Installation was not done because of NVIDIA Graphic Card, as this card supports only windows vista and xp. Ubuntu is a free and open source software and so it will not support NVIDIA Graphic card. This is where the problem lies

unable to connect to wi-fi with a new 10.04 Ubuntu install

Greetings to all. I love Linux, no more Redmond on my Acer extenda 5420 laptop. All is great except my inability to connect via wi-fi. The internal "card" is a Broadcom b43 series. I am willing to do an end run by using a PCMCIA card if anyone can suggest one that would work "out of the box." Any help is appreciated. Thanks everyone. Hank

Linux finally gets a great audio tagger

As someone that loves music, listens constantly and is always adding to my collection by purchasing and then ripping CDs, a decent tag editor is an essential tool. I’ve been using Linux for the past seven years or so and the only drawback that I was constantly faced with was the lack of a great audio tag editor - basically a Linux based equivalent to mp3tag.

MFC5840CN scanner no device available supported devices are busy

Still [not sure where to post this and] working on getting this scanner to work in Ubuntu but now 10.10. I upgraded my 9.04 via internet to 10.10 a few days ago. I've had the drivers and supporting files installed for a while (9.04) yet Xsane gives me the message that no device available supported devices are busy. I've even removed xsane to see if sane might do the job. Yea sane and xsane are both in there. I recently did a lsusb command and got this response in brackets below:
[????????@????????-desktop:~$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 04f9:016e Brother Industries, Ltd MFC-5840CN Remote Setup Port
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
drmike@drmike-desktop:~$ '/usr/share/applications/gnome-screenshot.desktop']

Scribus text box doesnt work

Using Ubuntu 10.04.1 with Scribus (stable) loaded from the Software Centre I have a problem. the text box doesn't work. I create a text box, click on the "Edit Contents of Frame" icon and get a cursor in the text box but all I can type in are figures. In just doesn't type letters. Obviously this is not a lot of use for a publisher programme. Is this a known bug and can it be fixed? if not anyone recommend a publishing programme that works in Ubuntu?

listview objects change background color when moving mouse over them

I have installed 10.04 release. In nautilus when folder visualization is in list mode, list's cells background color change randomly as I pass the mouse over them. Same effect I see using gedit.
In previous version 9.10 on the same machine all was working fine.
Can some body help me, please?

NOTE. My graphic card is a S3 ProSavage KM133 and the mouse is a simple USB mouse "Trust" on a 1.1 usb port.
Thank you in advance.
