I just installed ubuntu on a 50 GB partition, and I can't seem to connect it to the internet. The Wifi connections menu wouldn't pick up any connections. I just formatted and reinstalled windows 7, and reinstalled all of my drivers.
I've never used Ubuntu before, so please don't tell me to do anything complicated, and thanks!

Following installation from CD to HD as auto login to 'bill' and the first reboot a full desktop appears on my screen and I can use some of the apps. When I reboot the PC, the screen comes up to the first color splash screen without any desktop, all icons are missing. I notice a right click has options to setup a app launcher but what happened to the full desktop displayed earlier?

Web indexing provides new content more quickly – Google Caffeine launch
Caffeine, Google's new web indexing system, went live Wednesday. Announcing the global launch of Caffeine, Google discussed that its evolving search engine technology makes even more freshly minted web content accessible and delivers that new material faster than before. Nobody will change the way they use Google. But links to a broader range of relevant content are now presented much faster following the content is published. The Caffeine overhaul of the web indexing technology also can be able to give Google a lot more flexibility to keep pace with a web that is evolving at an accelerating rate.

URD is a program to download binaries from usenet (newsgroups) through a web interface. While some other programs offer similar services (e.g. Ninan, Sabnzbd), URD doesn’t need external NZB files to function. URD lets you subscribe to newsgroups, and will then automatically analyse those articles to form downloadable ‘sets’,consisting of all the files belonging to a specific upload. These sets are displayed, and through point and click you can be downloading a binary in no time.

Hello, I just installed ubuntu last night on my comp because I had too many driver crashes with windows. I LOVE the interface and functionality of this O.S. The only problem that I am having is, with windows, you get the install wizard. I do not have an idea of how to extract files from CD's or downloaded from mozilla and do all that stuff on ubuntu. My email is thabstract@ymail.com and my ubuntu chat sn is Abstract. If anyone could help me with this as soon as possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I was running Windows 7 on my laptop but installed Ubuntu Linux as well. While installing Ubuntu I made an error and only dedicated 17 Gigs of hard drive space to Ubuntu and the rest to Windows. I would like to split my hard drive more evenly but cannot seem to figure out how to reconfigure Ubuntu to use more than the 17 Gigs. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Currently using Ubuntu 10.04 - Users have the ability to right click on the network icon - Edit connections/Wireless and view the key by just clicking Show Key. Any suggestions on how to hide the "show key" ?
