ok, new to this whole linux and forum thing-KDE and Gnome

I have Kubuntu installed on my system can I also install Gnome on the same system, I was going to with adept, but it said " break install " . I wasn't sure what that meant? please if someone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Rod
