problem in shutting down UBUNTU

I have a problem in shutting down Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon.when i click on the red button at the task bar, it disappears, only the desktop is visible, and then i m unable to shutdown UBUNTU 7.10 gusty gibbon. My pc do not freezes, when the both toolbars(top and bottom) are disappeared. Yours ThankfullyRazzihaiderrazzihaider@gmail.comrazzi_haider_110@yahoo.com

Your problem is caused by that 100% disk usage, there is no way you can run programs smoothly, so try to solve that first.

I completely concur with santa, there's no way for ubuntu to save necassary files on shutdown with 100% disk usage.  Clear this up, and make another post if the problem persists.

USING  CTRL -> ALT ->  BACKSPACE WILL GET YOU OUT, BUT DOES NOT SOLVE THE BASIC PROBLEM
