problem with installing ubuntu

please some one i need help i've tried to install Ubuntu  several times and i  keep getting the same  error message "failed to start x server ( your graphical interface) it is likly that it is not set up correctly." i've tried this boot disc on  another computer and it  installed beauitfully  not problems... can some one help?
