Eclipse
For Java there is allways Eclipse, its a total kickass dev suite that anyone will love. I use it everyday, on windows, but there is a linux version aswell. Make sure you check it out, it integrates, cvs or subversion, JUnit, ANT, JBoss, Tomcat and everything else that might come to mind. It has an exelent debugger and alot of good help for your everyday needs.
