Shockwave on Wine

Submitted by Jesdisciple on Tue, 2008-06-10 05:13.

I installed Wine, Firefox, and (through Firefox) Shockwave, but Shockwave doesn't work.  It just says "Adobe Shockwave Player is now installing."  (Maybe they missed the T key for W...)  Help?

Worked for me just now.  I installed wine-1.0rc4, and inside that installed firefox 3 rc2,and then I installed Shockwave player 11.  I was then able to view the demo shockwave movies at the adobe site (though I couldn't figure out how to get out of that bike racing game without killing firefox). If you have more trouble with this, please take it to Wine's own forum, you'll get much better support there.  http://forum.winehq.org

why do you need wine?  shockwave works fine in firefox without it.

Really?  Not for me, and I haven't heard such a report before...  How do you get your results?
