Does anyone know if there is a GUI program that runs in xwindows which is the same as the tail command ? If yes where can I download it?

There exists a GUI. The tool is called gtail. You can get it here:
http://www.netsw.org/system/tools/fileutils/logfile/gtail/

I can't tell if it really works, as I haven't tested it.
